Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom Wages War in the Fall

A new Overlord movie, Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom, is coming this fall and is an adaptation of volumes 12 and 13. A kingdom that prides itself on being holy is under duress and seeks help from its polar opposite. The undead king, the Overlord himself, must aid a kingdom that despises those who dwell in the darkness. We’ll see if these two sides can get along when this movie premieres sometime in the fall. Let’s enjoy the new trailer until then.

Kugane Maruyama began to work on the original Overlord novel on May 9th, 2010. From July 30th, 2012, so-bin joined him on the light novel iteration. Enterbrain has currently published sixteen volumes.

Our favorite skeleton, his number one waifu, and a couple of holy maidens are as follows:

Ainz Ooal Gown / Momonga — Satoshi Hino (Noritoshi Kamo from Jujutsu Kaisen). A gamer who wanted to wait out the timer on a discontinued VRMMO. He is now stuck in that online world but doesn’t seem bothered much.
Albedo — Yumi Hara (Yumi from Senran Kagura). Momonga’s loyal succubus and the overseer of the Floor Guardians. She is desperately in love with him, though little might come of it given Momonga’s skeletal body.
Remedios Custodio — Hitomi Nabatame (Chomusuke from KonoSuba). The leader of the Holy Knights and the most powerful among them. Her younger sister leads the priests.
Calca Bessarez — Saori Hayami (Oyuki from Urusei Yatsura (2022)). The Queen of the Roble Holy Kingdom.

Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom Calls Upon the Darkness to Save the Light

The Roble Holy Kingdom is a place of peace and light. The Holy Queen Calca Bessarez leads this religious country. The Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth now leads his forces to burn the kingdom in hellfire. Roble’s forces, led by Remedios, find themselves at a loss in battle. Jaldabaoth’s demon armies are just too much for them to handle. Calca had no choice but to approach the Sorcerer King Ainz Ooal Gown for assistance. Though Roble is diametrically opposed to the forces of darkness, Jaldabaoth presents too great a threat for them to turn away potential allies.
