Another original e-sports anime has entered the Net café. Our Rainy Protocol (Bokura no Ameiro Protocol) sees a former gamer return to his hobby to win a heated contest. We’ll see how far his ragtag team gets when the series premieres sometime in October 2023. We can watch how they form the group in the new trailer until then.

Log In After a Loss
Plot details concerning the series are limited, but here’s what we have. Our Rainy Protocol follows Shun Tokinoya (voiced by Kensho Ono) as he steps away from his favorite online game Xaxerion. A terrible accident ended his father’s life and left his sister Mio (voiced by Momo Asakura) injured. He decided to quit gaming but remained close to his hobby by working at an e-sports café named FOX ONE. Shin spends most of his time studying while working part-time at FOX ONE, all to help support his family. He still spends time hanging out with his friends, though.
Shun discovers that FOX ONE is deep in debt, endangering his social and work life. He teams up with his friends to enter the Xaxerion Championship and win it all. They hope to use the prize money to pay off the debt and save the café. As such, Shun returns to the world of Xaxerion, where he runs into an old gaming friend, Bakuretsu-kun.
Our Rainy Protocol Origins
The series creation is credited to Team Kitsune, which may or may not be a meta-reference to a group from Our Rainy Protocol. The series directors are Yasutaka Yamamoto and Daishi Kato, while Katsuhiko Takayama and Yasutaka Yamamoto will write the series. Satoru Kōsaki and Monaca will provide Our Rainy Protocol with its rhythm and melody.
