Spotify has become the go-to music streaming platform for finding old and new songs from various artists. Now there’s good news for anime fans: you can now listen to hundreds of anime songs on the platform as the project named AniPlaylist revealed in their recent update on Saturday.
NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan is the Japanese branch of the leading music company, Universal. Artists under their label already have songs added on Spotify — the downside, however, is that their songs were only available for Japan. The majority of Japanese songs are now available worldwide, including songs from fripSide, Yanagi Nagi, KOTOKO, ELISA, Mami Kawada, Yoko Takahashi, Maon Kurosaki, and more.
The AniPlaylist project’s purpose is to find and list every official anime song that’s available on Spotify. This goes from anime openings, insert songs, endings, and OSTs. Due to its great efforts, the project has already listed around 1,900 songs and 230 albums (this includes character songs and original soundtracks) all neatly organized into 40 playlists by season, anime title, and year, making it easier for fans to find the music they want to hear.
