Don’t let the pretty colors fool you, Ame-chan’s life isn’t all rainbows and happiness. Her abusive upbringing has left her scarred and vulnerable to an uncaring world. Ame-chan becomes a live streamer and sets the ambitious goal of reaching one million followers online. It would both cover her expenses and feed her parasocial need to receive the affection her parents refused to give her. We’ll see if a happy ending is even possible when Needy Girl Overdose premieres sometime in April 2026.

Aim for the Top or Break Trying, Needy Girl Overdose
Ame-chan’s life has been a tale of tragedy and abuse. Her parents spend most of their time arguing and potentially fighting, if Ame-chan’s mother grabbed that knife for a reason besides preparing food. They neglect and abuse her in turn, leaving her emotionally and mentally scarred. Things come to a head when her parents get divorced and argue about who should gain custody of Ame-chan. She quickly flees home when her mother plans to force Ame-chan into prostitution.

Ame-chan relies on the kindness of friends to stay at their places. Not content to coast on their kindness, she decides to make her own way by becoming a live streamer. Ame-chan sets the goal of reaching one million followers in 30 days. She uses the online name OMGkawaiiAngel (Chouzetsu saikawa tenshi-chan or transcendental cute angel), or KAngel (Choten-chan) for short. She hides her gloomy and self-deprecating side and pretends to be her ideal self online. Her goals are 1) earning her way in life and 2) feeding her parasocial need for receiving the love and affection her parents never gave her.
