It was announced back in 2019 that the popular anime series My Hero Academia was receiving a third film slated for some time in 2021. The official Twitter account of the My Hero Academia series announced a new trailer of the third film, My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes Mission, which will premier on August 6th.

In the previous announcement last September, it was revealed that My Hero Academia original manga author Kohei Horikoshi will be supervising and providing original character designs. Kenji Nagasaki, who directed the first three seasons of the anime series and first film will be directing the second film. Yosuke Kuroda will be directing the screenplay. Joining them will be the anime series character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, and Yuuki Hayashi will be the soundtrack composer on the film project.
The My Hero Academia anime series first season originally ran from April 3 to June 26, 2016, with the second season from April 1 to September 30 in 2017, the third April 7 to September 29th in 2018, and the fourth season from October 12, 2019, to April 4, 2020. The franchise also received two animated films, My Hero Academia: Two Heroes back in 2018, and My Hero Academia: Hero Rising back in 2020.
Kohei Horikoshi launched the manga series, My Hero Academia, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, in July 2014. The manga’s 22nd compiled book volume was published by Shueisha on February 4, 2019. Viz Media is publishing the manga in English digitally and in print. The manga has also inspired two spin-off mangas, the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes and My Hero Academia: Smash!! which Viz Media is releasing in English.
The fifth season of My Hero Academia has just begun airing and is available on both Crunchyroll and Funimation.
