A detective is a detective even if he hasn’t solved a case in a few years. A bright-eyed albeit naive police officer pulls a certain private investigator out of his self-imposed exile to catch a criminal. They’ll have to contend with both criminals and Ron Kamonohashi’s ability to compel self-destructive tendencies in others. We’ll see how this new detective partnership flourishes when Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions Season 2 premieres on October 7th, 2024.
Akira Amano released the original Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions manga series on October 11th, 2020. Shueisha has since published fourteen volumes in Shonen Jump+. Studio Diomedéa’s anime adaptation premiered on October 2nd, 2023.
The great detective, his faithful partner, and the head of the police department are as follows:
- Ron Kamonohashi — Yohei Azakami (Guel Jeturk in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). A famed detective who fell out of favor after a case five years ago.
- Totomaru Isshiki — Junya Enoki (Shosuke Komi from Komi Can’t Communicate). A bright and straightforward police officer whose naivety keeps him from advancing his career.
- Amamiya — Yoko Hikasa (Weiss Schnee from RWBY: Ice Queendom). The head of the Metropolitan Police Department’s First Investigative Division and Totomaru’s direct superior.

Ron Kamonohashi’s Forbidden Deductions and Moriarty’s Legacy
Ron Kamonohashi was once a rising star in the detective world. He solved every case that was placed before him. Ron’s career was on a stellar trajectory until he gained a unique and awful trait. He was endowed with the “Kill on Sight” ability. Ron was compelled to convince criminals to end their own lives. Coupled with a murder case’s tragic ending, Ron was expelled from the Detective Training Academy BLUE and barred from ever working on a case again.
Totomaru Isshiki is a bright-eyed and honest police investigator. His superior Amamiya is leading the charge to solve a serial murder case but there have not been any breakthroughs in nine months. An older officer recommends that Totomaru visit Ron to gain his assistance. Though Ron isolated himself from society for five years since his dismissal, his skills are still second to none. Ron’s return to crime-solving is not a moment too soon as the heirs of James Moriarty continue to move in the shadows and strike the innocent. As an heir to Sherlock Holmes, it is Ron’s destiny to confront them at every turn.
