98…99…100! From the creative mind of ONE (One-Punch Man), in coordination with Warner Bros. Japan and anime studio Bones, comes the announcement of the third season of the hit anime Mob Psycho 100. The studio also provided a promotional video with some of the visuals from the third season, officially titled Mob Psycho 100 III.

Much of the staff from the previous two seasons will be returning, with Setsuo Ito (Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama), Takahiro Sakurai (Arataka Reigen), Miyu Irino (Ritsu Kageyama), Akio Ohtsuka (Ekubo), and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Teruki Hanazawa) all reprising their voice acting roles. Yuzuru Tachikawa, formerly the director, is now credited as the executive director. Takahiro Hasui, who previously worked as one of the episode directors of Season 2, will be the new director. Hiroshi Seko will be returning for the series composition, with Yoshimichi Kameda (character designer), Kazukiro Wakabayashi (sound director), and Kenji Kawai (music composer) all returning as well.
Season 1 of the anime first premiered in Japan in July 2016, and the second season premiered in January 2019. The English dub first aired on Adult Swim’s Toonami block in October 2018. The air date for Mob Psycho 100 III hasn’t been officially announced as of yet, but it’s reasonable to expect that we will hear about it soon.
Mob Psycho 100 is an action-oriented supernatural anime that features a middle school student endowed with psychic powers, Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama, as he investigates and encounters all manner of supernatural foes alongside his employer, the spiritual “detective” Arataka Reigen. While not inherently a horror anime, there are some psychological elements that can be pretty disturbing. If you’re looking for an anime that balances supernatural components, action, and character development, you can’t go wrong with Mob Psycho 100. Seasons 1, 2, and the OVA are all available on Crunchyroll, both subbed and dubbed. With Halloween right around the corner, it’s definitely a good show to snuggle up with for spooky season.
