Not all isekai protagonists want an adventure-filled, exciting life. Our new protagonist experienced a loss, making him push everyone away. Shoji Goji and Booota released the original Loner Life in Another World light novel on January 25th, 2018. Overlap has published fourteen volumes in the Overlap Bunko imprint.
The lonely-by-choice isekai protagonist and a couple of his cute friends are as follows:
- Haruka — Shuichiro Umeda (Yuuki Izumi in Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie). A guy who chooses to be alone after suffering extreme loss. Haruka is still willing to help people despite living a loner life.
- Class Rep — Haruka Shiraishi (Chitose Shirakawa from The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten). The cute class representative who takes command in almost any situation. She has feelings for Haruka.
- Gyaru Leader / Shimazaki— Hina Suguta (Marin Kitagawa from My Dress-Up Darling). Shimazaki is the leader of the gyaru girls. Gyaru Leader and her friends rely on Haruka to survive in the new world.

A Loner Life in Another World with Friends
Haruka is a loner, no matter what world he lives in. He lost his entire family in different tragedies, leading him to distance himself from others. Despite that, his classmates are fond of him. Haruka’s determination to lead a usual and lonely life prompts him to avoid the otherworld-summoning spell at any cost. While his classmates disappeared, he escaped into his classroom’s ceiling. Regardless, the White Room still summoned him to the other world.
Haruka is the last person to appear in God’s White Room. His classmates have already departed for the other world, and God is surprised to see him. The cheat skills are all first come, first serve, so Haruka could only choose from what’s left. The remaining skills are useless, like “Shut-In” and “Sensitivity.” God feels sorry for him, so he gives Haruka everything left and sends him on his way. His “Loner” skill prevents him from joining parties, but his “Manipulation” skill allows him to subjugate those willing (such as a cute dancer) to his cause. Haruka must survive in hard mode while helping the people who aren’t his friends in this loner life in another world.
