Let's Become Familiar with Witch Watch

A teenage witch (not that one) embarks on a new journey after completing her training. In a world full of magical beings, she chooses her childhood friend and love interest to become her familiar. Magic, romance, and action ensue when Witch Watch premieres sometime in April 2025.

Kenta Shinohara (Sket Dance) released the original Witch Watch manga series on February 8th, 2021. Shueisha has published seventeen volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump.

The witch we should watch, her new familiar, and a fellow witch worth watching are as follows:

Nico Wakatsuki — Rina Kawaguchi (Celty Srowa from Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Girls in a Dungeon?). A witch who recently completed her training. She moves in with Morihito for her protection.
Morihito Otogi — Ryota Suzuki (Third One for All from My Hero Academia). Nico’s childhood friend and her familiar. He possesses the superhuman strength of an ogre.
Nemu Miyao — Tomori Kusunoki (Makima from Chainsaw Man). A witch from a prestigious magical family. She specializes in transformation magic.

Bibury Animation Studios has maintained a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Witch Watch. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals there. She’s just a magical girl surrounded by magical friends.

Witch Watch and Her Familiar

Nico Wakatsuki is a witch who comes from a famous family of witches. She recently completed her training and the next step is to get a familiar. Her childhood friend happens to be the perfect candidate for a familiar. Morihito Otogi is an ogre in human form. He comes from a long line of familiars, and his father has informed him that he’s to become Nico’s familiar. Morihito must now live with Nico and protect her from anyone or anything trying to harm her.

Morihito and Nico will be living alone in his place since his father and mother have other businesses to attend to. Nico has a crush on him and sees this as the perfect opportunity for them to grow closer. Unfortunately for her, Morihito takes his job very seriously. A prophecy of doom hangs over Nico’s head, and Morihito intends to avert it at any cost.
