As I’ve said before, I love a good dating simulator so, as you can imagine, Love Plus has been one of my favorite things to report on over the last decade or so. Originally launched on the Nintendo DS back in 2009, this girlfriend simulator took the genre to new heights by making the point of the game not to win a virtual girl’s affections but keep them as well by making the player invest time in their relationship. At one point, the player must even use the built-in microphone to tell their virtual girlfriend that they love her. That’s dedication.
As with many things that enter popular culture anywhere in the world though, the popularity of this franchise waned over the years. It got a couple of new releases such as Love Plus+ in 2010 and New Love Plus+ in 2014 but otherwise, it’s been pretty quiet on the Love Plus front for the last half-decade… that is until the morning of September 12th when it was revealed that a new mobile version of the game will be released in November 2019 in Japan for iOS and Android devices!
The new version is titled Love Plus Every and will follow roughly the same formula that players experienced before; you’ll meet and court one of three girls (Rinko Kobayakawa voiced by Sakura Tange, Manaka Takane voiced by Saori Hayami, or Nene Anegasaki voiced by Yuko Minaguchi) and eventually enter a relationship with the girl of your choice all while attempting to build up your stats and participating in special seasonal events. The game will even feature some special virtual reality elements for those who own a set of goggles.
The first promotional video debuted at Tokyo Game Show this week which shows off many of the various features of the game including going out on dates, taking pictures of your girlfriend, and much, much more!
Unfortunately, there is no word on if this version will see an official English release but I’m certainly hoping that it will!
