Originally a manga created by Kōji Kumeta (also known for Sayonara, Zetsubou-sensei), the series ran in Monthly Shōnen Magazine from December 2015 to July 2020 and was collected into twelve volumes. In March 2020, Kodansha USA revealed that they will release the manga in English.

The anime adaptation was first announced in November 2019 and premiered in spring 2020. Directed by Yuta Murano working off scripts written by Takashi Aoshima, Ajia-do Animation Works produced the animation. Shuuhei Yamamoto handled character designs and Yukari Hashimoto composed the background music.

Funimation describes the story as:

Single father Kakushi Goto has a secret. He’s a top-selling artist of popular erotic manga, but his impressionable young daughter, Hime, can never find out! Now he’s having to bend over backwards just to keep her inquisitive little mind from discovering what he does for a living.

Kakushigoto is a charming, heart-warming series that will tease you all the way to the final episode (and I mean that in the best possible way). What makes this series so fun though is how it can transfer from being so funny your sides will hurt to punching you right in the feels without a moment’s hesitation or difficulty. If you haven’t checked out this series yet, I encourage you to fix that as soon as you possibly can!
