Accidents happen in life. It’s what you do after you make a mistake that matters. In the case of A Journey Through Another World: Raising Kids While Adventuring (Isekai Yururi Kiko: Kosodate Shinagara Bōkensha Shimasu), it was a god who messed up. He accidentally killed a guy from Japan. We’ll see how this god makes up for his divine comedy sometime in July 2024. Let’s enjoy the new trailer until then.
Shizuru Minazuki released the original A Journey Through Another World novel via AlphaPolis on June 2nd, 2016. Its light novel adaptation with art by Yamakawa was first published on April 28th, 2017. Fifteen volumes have been published thus far.
Our new isekai protagonist, the reckless god, and a couple of divine children are as follows:
- Takumi Kayano — Yusuke Shirai (Billy from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth). An average Japanese guy who was accidentally killed by a god. As repayment, he was sent to another world with magical abilities.
- Sylphyleel “Syl” — Haruka Tomatsu (Lala Satalin Deviluke in To LOVE-Ru). The god who manages the world of Aetherdia. He accidentally killed Takumi while trying to do his job.
- Allen — Aina Suzuki (Mari Ohara from Love Live! Sunshine!!). A son of the Water God Windell. He is Elena’s older twin brother.
- Elena — Miharu Hanai (Twin Turbo from Uma Musume Pretty Derby). A daughter of Windell the Water God and Allen’s younger twin sister.

A Journey Through Another World with Gods
A Journey Through Another World begins with a bit of an accident. Sylphyleel, the god of Aetherdia, was closing a rift between his world and Earth. However, he slightly put too much effort into his task and killed a man standing on the other side of the rift. Syl brought Takumi Kayano to a room within Aetherdia and apologized while on his hands and knees. He explained the situation and (by way of compensation) created a new and younger body for Takumi to live a longer life in Aetherdia.
Takumi was granted magical abilities with a game-like system and went from age 28 to 20. His stats were also set well above his current level. That was awfully nice of Syl. His first outing in the world led him to two children whom he named Allen and Elena. They were wounded, starving, and wore only rags. He helped them on the spot with items Syl kept sending him through the inventory system. Thus, his new life in a new world began.
