HYPNOSISMIC -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima+ Season 2, aptly titled with a plus sign at the end to indicate the new season, is set to premiere sometime in October 2023. It’ll be a while before these boy bands literally have a war of words, but we’ll know who will be battling as the new trailer gives a good breakdown of the cast of characters.
A-1 Pictures, the studio bringing this iteration of King Records’s multimedia franchise, has since maintained a promotional home page and an official Twitter page to keep fans and potential viewers up-to-date on new series announcements. They recently posted a new key visual depicting the different boy bands.
A War of Words and Lyrics
For those new to HYPNOSISMIC, weapons were outlawed years after the world was ravaged by war and devastation, and a new type of offensive was made. The titular hypnosis microphones enable singers to use lyrics to bend others to their will and even cause physical pain. Created and given to the people by the Party of Words, a new age of warfare began when musical groups became soldiers for gangers, terrorists, and even the military, and rap battles were taken far more seriously.
The Party of Words is an all-female political group that rules the Japanese government entirely. Women are made to live in Chuuouku, while men battle over surrounding territories outside the ward through rap battles. Amid this chaos, the Party of Words is set on gathering the former members of the legendary rap group The Dirty Dawg for reasons other than territorial conflict or war. Unfortunately, those members belong to four different groups, each representing a division of Tokyo, while engaging in territory battles.
