Is the manga series Hunter x Hunter finally getting some new chapters? According to a tweet sent out by the creator, Yoshihiro Togashi, it could be happening!
What’s that? You didn’t know that the creator of Hunter x Hunter had his own Twitter account? That’s because it’s brand new, as verified by the artist of One Punch Man, Yusuke Murata. So, what little tidbits did Togashi share in his first tweets? How about a picture of some in-progress manga art?

While nothing has been guaranteed as of this writing, it appears that Togashi is finally going to break out of his latest hiatus to release four more chapters of his long-running series. Now, there are no promises being made that the series will continue past that or that he won’t go back into hiatus after these four chapters are submitted. The series has been not-so-charitably known as Hiatus x Hiatus at times by fans after all (the last time they published a chapter of this series was back in 2018).
Hunter x Hunter is a shonen manga series with history. First launching in Weekly Shonen Jump back in March 1998, the series tells the story of a young man named Gon who wants to become a professional hunter and eventually find his father who left him at an early age. Over the course of many adventures, Gon will deal with supernatural entities, giant bugs, and so much more.
The series has been adapted into anime twice. Attempt number one at turning this series into an anime was back in 1999 when Nippon Animation released a 62-episode adaptation. The second attempt, which was much more successful, launched in October 2011 with studio Madhouse handling the animation. This adaptation ended up lasting 148 episodes, with two animated movies also released.
Regardless, here’s to hoping that fans of this series will finally get some sweet satisfaction whenever these new chapters are finally published!
