One of the top series that fans are looking forward to in the upcoming summer season is How a Realist Rebuilt the Kingdom which stars a humanities geek getting transported to a new world where he begins to rebuild the kingdom through economic and political reform, rather than conquest and destruction.

In a new promotional video released on Friday, June 4th, all the details were revealed regarding when we’ll be able to watch the series and who will bring the characters to life!

J.C. Staff will produce the animation with Takashi Watanabe serving as the director. He’ll be working off scripts written by Go Zappa and Hiroshi Onogi and character designs provided by Mai Otsuka. As heard in the promotional video, the opening theme song will be titled “Hello Horizon” performed by Inori Minase.

The cast for the series reads as follows (character names first):

Soma Kazuya: Yusuke Kobayashi
Liscia Elfrieden: Inori Minase
Ayesha Udgard: Ikumi Hasegawa
Juna Doma: Reina Ueda
Hakuya Kwonmin: Kazuyuki Okitsu
Tomoe Inui: Moeka Kishimoto
Poncho Panacotta: Masaaki Underwater
Georg Carmine: Taiten Kusunoki
Excel Walter: Yui Horie
Castor Vargas: Jun Fukuyama
Carla Vargas: Aimi
Albert Elfrieden: Mugihito
Elisha Elfrieden: Kikuko Inoue
Gaius Amidonia: Tetsu Inada
Julius Amidonia: Kenji Nojima
Roroa Amidonia: M.A.O.
Maria Euphoria: Hisako Kanemoto
Jeanne Euphoria: Yui Ishikawa

Originally a light novel series written by Dojyomaru and illustrated by Fuyuyuki, How a Realist Rebuilt the Kingdom wasn’t professionally published in Japan until 2016 and was soon licensed in English by J-Novel Club in 2017. The series is up to thirteen volumes in both Japanese and English. Funimation has already licensed the anime adaptation and it will premiere on July 3rd, 2021.

This series ranked quite high on the list of the most expected series of the upcoming season. Here’s to hoping that this proves to be a fresh approach that breathes new life into the isekai genre.
