Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and More now on Humble Bundle

The Captain by The Captain

Humble Bundle is easily the easiest and cheapest place to build your geek collection, all while doing some good in the world. Games, comics, audiobooks, and good ol’ digital books on everything from D&D to zombie cupcakes have featured on the charity site. Now, Kodansha has a massive manga bundle on offer, from the brain of Hiro Mashima.

The bundle includes Fairy Tail, Fairy Tail Zero, Fairy Tail S, Edens Zero, Monster Soul, Rave Master, and Hiro Mashima’s Playground.

The Fairy Tail manga is a best-seller, which had 72 million collected volumes in circulation, as of February this year. It has reaped a pile of accolades, including being awarded Best Comedy Manga by the 2009 Industry Awards for the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation. Besides the popular anime, it has had a slew of spinoffs, including video games, figures, and anime movies.

Rave Master was Hiro Mashima’s first manga series, published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1999 to 2005. It follows Haru Glory, a teen on a mission to find the five pieces of the sacred Rave stone, which will help him defeat the criminal group Demon Card and bring peace to the world. If you’re looking for an epic, this series clocks in at a hefty thirty-five volumes.

Monster Soul is another shōnen manga, set in Elvenland, a world filled with humans and monsters. The story revolves around a group of monsters called the Black Airs.

The team of Monster Soul includes Mummy — who could easily sell bandages as high fashion — and James, an android.

Hiro Mashima’s Playground is a collection of eight of Mashima’s one-shots and contains a fascinating little piece of Fairy Tail history. One for collectors!

Humble Bundle claims that the full package is worth over $1,000 (US), and considering how likely this deal is likely to swing around again, you might just want to jump on the offer now.
