A boy dreams of becoming a great adventurer. His dreams seem dashed when he unlocks the seemingly useless skill “Nut Master.” This skill is more suited to the farming fields than the battlefields. However, his skill has a secret: it’s a path to unlimited power! His dreams are closer than even he realizes. We’ll see him put his skill to good use when Hazure Skill “Kinomi Master” (Failure Skill “Nut Master”) premieres sometime in January 2025.
Hanyuu and Air Matsukoto released the original Hazure Skill “Kinomi Master” manga series on July 6th, 2021. Kodansha has since published six volumes in Suiyobi no Sirius.
Our Nut Master and two of his cute adventuring friends are as follows:
- Light Underwood — Takuma Nagatsuka (Kouji Kouda from My Hero Academia). A boy who dreamed of becoming an adventurer. His “Nut Master” skill is more beneficial than it seems.
- Lena Floria — Lynn (Miyako Saito from Oshi no Ko). Light’s childhood friend and an S-Rank adventurer with the “Sword Saint” skill.
- Dratena Belbury — Akira Sekine (Maryu Reage from Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?). A mysterious girl with the dark “Necromanipulation” skill.

Hazure Skill “Kinomi Master” Cheats the System
Light Underwood has always dreamed of becoming a great adventurer. He longed to travel out and slay great monsters to become a hero. The day came for him and his childhood friend Lena Floria to eat a sacred skill fruit to unlock an ability that would determine their future. Light gains the farming-based skill “Nut Master,” which allows him to grow bountiful harvests in short periods. However, Lena gained the “Sword Saint” skill and tearfully departed home to become a great adventurer.
Three months have passed since Light and Lena’s fates diverged. Lena has become an S-Rank adventurer, and Light earns a modest living as a farmer. He took the orphan Ayla Lawrence in at the village chief’s behest. Ayla accidentally included some skill fruits in the meal she prepared for them. Rather than dying after eating a second skill fruit, Light gained the “Sword Saint” skill. Ayla used her new “Appraisal” skill to inform Light that his “Nut Master” skill nullified the poison that would have ended him. Just like this, Light’s useless farming skill would make him a legend.
