The HameFura: My Next Life as a Villainess movie adaptation now has a trailer to entice isekai fans. Officially, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! (Otome Game no Hametsu Furagu Shika Nai Akuyaku Reijō ni Tensei Shite Shimatta / I Reincarnated into an otome game as a Villainess With Only Destruction Flags), but we will use the shorter title for brevity’s sake. The series is also known as HameFura.
It’s been a while since the movie’s announcement. This movie will follow the first and second seasons, but it will feature a new story by the original writer and premiere on December 8th, 2023. We have a trailer to enjoy until then.
Silver Link, the artists adapting the series, have maintained a home page to promote HameFura: My Next Life as a Villainess. That is in addition to an official Twitter page. Fans of the series can find behind-the-scenes information and the key visual.
Reborn as the Villainess
The new movie’s plot is still unknown, but we can still recap the series plot for those new to HameFura: My Next Life as a Villainess. Catarina Claes (Maaya Uchida) was a high school otaku from Japan from her past life. A vehicle hit her (Truck-kun not implicated this time), and she died on her way to school. A head injury eight years later caused her to recall her previous life. She then recognized the world around her as that of the otome game visual novel Fortune Lover, a game that she truly enjoyed. She also remembered that Catarina is either exiled or executed at the end of every romantic route in the game.
This premise is like The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen From Villainess to Savior, wherein the isekai protagonist knows her ultimate fate and uses kindness and ingenuity to avoid it. Catarina works to evade these “death flags” by improving her magic, swordsmanship, plus gardening. She does this while working to befriend those who may control her fate in the future. Catarina initially befriended the third prince Geordo Stuart (Shouta Aoi), her fiancé, and her stepbrother Keith (Tetsuya Kakihara). Her kindness attracted a lot of romantic attention, something she is oblivious to.
