Girlfriend, Girlfriend Season 2 (Kanojo mo Kanojo / She Is My Girlfriend Too) is set to begin airing sometime in October 2023. This is one of the few harem anime series that sticks with the harem component. Other girls confessed to the protagonist, then he said, “Yes.” This alone makes him more intelligent than many other harem “protagonists.”
It’ll be a while before we see Naoya make more correct decisions. Let’s enjoy the new trailer until then.
Tezuka Productions, and now SynergySP, have put up and maintained a home page to promote Girlfriend, Girlfriend. This is in addition to the official Twitter page and TikTok page. Information can be found there, such as behind-the-scenes details and bonuses like the Key Art.
The Harem Ending Plan
Girlfriend, Girlfriend (also known as KanoKano) follows Naoya Mukai (Junya Enoki) in the prime of his love life. He happily dates his childhood friend Saki Saki (Ayana Taketatsu) and is not shy about showing it. Yes, her given and family names are the same because her parents thought it would be cute. Naoya fell in love with Saki ever since they were in grade school, and he couldn’t be happier to begin dating her in high school.
Naoya’s simple love life became complicated when Nagisa Minase (Azumi Waki) confessed to him on the rooftop. She’s a first-year and is just as passionate about romance as he is. Nagisa reveals her feelings to him and gives him a full-course meal, made with expensive ingredients, that she prepared herself. Naoya admits that he is already dating someone else. However, since he wears his heart on his sleeve, he proposes that they both go to his girlfriend to get permission for him to date two girls at once.
Saki finds her just as adorable as Naoya. However, when the idea of Naoya also dating Nagisa comes up, she reacts in the expected fashion. Nagisa’s lovable nature and Naoya’s persistence create an opening, and Naoya invites them to live with him. As rocky as all that sounds, even more girls will appear before Naoya, each giving him harem flags. Thus the infamous harem route of Naoya begins!
