Harem anime series are a dime a dozen. Truly great harem anime series are harder to come by. Giji Harem (Pseudo Harem) may become one of the greats, and there’s only one girl in the harem. A girl is so in love with a guy that she’ll use her acting talents to create different personas that fawn over him. Studio Nomad has yet to give us a release date, but we have a trailer we can watch and enjoy until it does.
Yu Saito wrote and illustrated the original Giji Harem manga series from June 20th, 2018, to March 5th, 2021. Shogakukan published all six volumes in Monthly Shonen Sunday.
Three of our talented characters are as follows:
- Eiji Kitahama — Nobuhiko Okamoto (Katsuki Bakugo from My Hero Academia). A student in the drama club who dreams of being well-liked enough to have a harem.
- Rin Nanakura — Saori Hayami (Oyuki from Urusei Yatsura (2022)). A fellow student of the drama club. She uses her peerless acting skills to take on different personas that Eiji enjoys. She secretly loves him but is too shy to confess without acting.
- Ayaka Nanakura — Mai Narumi (Virginia “Ginny” Robertson from League of Nations Air Force Aviation Magic Band Luminous Witches). Rin’s younger sister and elementary school student.

A Giji Harem is Still a Harem
Giji Harem stars a love-struck actress and a fellow classmate from the drama club. Eiji wants to be attractive and popular and wants a harem of girls fawning over him. None of this is realistic, but Rin still wants to help him. After all, she’s quite taken by him. She uses her acting skills to portray different waifu archetypes, from tsundere to calmly elegant beauties. Rin wouldn’t even refuse Eiji’s request for her to wear catgirl cosplay. As much as she loves him, she can’t bring herself to confess when she isn’t already acting. This actress has a form of off-stage fright.
