Isekai series don’t have enough adults whose lives have hit a rut. Teens, with all the potential in the world, get second chances and not lifeless corporate salarymen. An upcoming anime, Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four! (Salaryman ga Isekai ni Ittara Shitennou ni Natta Hanashi), changes that trend by bringing a salaryman to another world to serve as the Demon King’s general. We’ll see how he performs when this anime series premieres sometime in 2025.
Benigashira and Muramitsu released the original Headhunted to Another World manga series on December 27th, 2019. Overlap has since published eight volumes in Comic Gardo.
Our newly recruited human and his new demon colleagues are as follows:
- Dennosuke Uchimura — Yuki Ono (Bazz-B from Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War). A skilled salaryman from Japan with low self-esteem due to abusive workplace practices.
- Ulmandra — Konomi Kohara (Arona from Blue Archive the Animation). One of the Four Heavenly Kings and a warrior who wields flames.
- Demon King — Akio Otsuka (Shunsui Kyoraku in Bleach). The Demon King and leader of a great army. He only needs someone to handle day-to-day clerical stuff.

Headhunted to Another World for a More Productive Work Environment
The mighty Demon King is gathering his Four Heavenly Kings to begin his campaign. His first three generals are demons, but his fourth is a human from another world. Dennosuke Uchimura is a skilled and competent salaryman whose superiors have abused him. He tries his best in everything he does, but the higher-ups disregard his work. Then, they force him into unacceptable positions. However, the Demon King knows a good employee when he sees one.
The entire employment opportunity confuses Dennosuke. The Demon King asks him to handle his day-to-day clerical tasks in exchange for an executive position and salary. He also disagrees that Dennosuke is “trash” due to his prior employers’ comments. The Demon King’s faith in him pushed Dennosuke to try his best. His talents even earned Ulmandra’s begrudging respect. No isekai story is complete without a cute tsundere waifu.
