The legendary high fantasy elf girl is returning next year. The titular heroine was once part of the hero’s party that slew the demon king. She faded from the spotlight, only to reappear decades later. The world has changed, and for the first time in her very long life, she confronts it. We’ll see her continue to chase after the inevitable when Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End (Soso no Frieren) Season 2 premieres sometime in January 2026.
Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe released the original Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga series on April 28th, 2020. Shogakukan has published fourteen volumes in Weekly Shonen Sunday. Studio Madhouse’s anime adaptation premiered on September 29th, 2023.
The immortal elf and her new companions are as follows:

- Frieren — Atsumi Tanezaki (Lilith from Monster Musume). An immortal elf and a member of the Hero Party.
- Fern — Kana Ichinose (Suletta Mercury from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). A human mage and Frieren’s apprentice.
- Stark — Chiaki Kobayashi (Shogo Taguchi from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime). A human warrior traveling with Fern and Frieren.
Madhouse maintains a home page, a TikTok page, and a Twitter (X) page to promote Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. You can find more information there about the series and the key visuals.

March North Toward Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End
Frieren is a long-lived elven mage. She spent ten years with the great Hero’s Party to slay the demon king and his armies. Frieren departed from their company after their victory and promised to meet them in 50 years. Their reunion to watch the Era Meteor forced Frieren to confront the issue of her companions’ mortality. The great hero Himmel became old and soon passed away from this life.

Frieren sets out to a place where souls go to rest so that she might see Himmel once again. She’s traveling with the mage Fern, the warrior Stark, and the priest Sein. Remnants of the demon army are among the threats the party faces on its way to the north. Frieren continues to make her way to Himmel, reminiscing about their shared past.
