We’ve reported on plenty of anime projects that have been postponed due to the ongoing concerns over the devastating COVID-19 pandemic. The anime industry has been hit hard by the spread of the virus and quarantine orders occurring across the globe. One industry that has been hit even harder, though, is the music industry. Bands and performers make most of their living off of performing live shows for crowds of people, and it became immediately clear that those sorts of massive public gatherings wouldn’t be possible anymore when this pandemic began. Last year, iconic Japanese rock band FLOW had announced plans to tour in 2020 and perform in various North American locales. With those initially planned tour dates just a few days away, though, the band has announced that the tour will now be occurring in 2021.
The new tour dates for FLOW’s 2021 North American tour are as follows:
- May 28: Raleigh, NC at Animazement convention
- May 29: Raleigh, NC at Animazement convention
- June 1: Atlanta, GA at The Center Stage
- June 3: Houston, TX at The White Oak Music Hall
- June 4: Dallas, TX at Canton Hall
- June 7: Anaheim, CA at City National Grove of Anaheim
- June 8: San Jose, CA at Center for the Performing Arts
- June 10: Vancouver, Canada at the Vogue Theatre
- June 12: Toronto, Canada at the Phoenix Concert Theatre
- June 14: New York, NY at SONY Hall
- June 16: Washington DC at State Theatre
- June 18: Monterrey, Mexico at Foro Didi
- June 19: Mexico City, Mexico at Foro Indie Rock
FLOW is made up of five members – vocalists Kohshi and Keigo, guitarist Take, drummer Iwasaki, and bassist Got’s. The band debuted back in 2001 with the self-published single “Flow #0”, but eventually in 2003 they would sign with Ki/oon Music and release their first major-label single, “Blaster.” Since then, the rock band has had a prolific career performing a huge number of unforgettable anime theme songs. Some of their most recognizable work comes from series like Eureka Seven, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and both Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. They’ve recorded themes for plenty of other major anime, though, such as Samurai Flamenco, The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, and Durarara!!×2 Ketsu.
