The official website for the upcoming televised anime series just revealed a new visual and their first teaser trailer. The trailer included that there will be two animation studios working on the series; Production I.G., who will be producing the anime, and Studio Khara who will be working on the Kaiju designs and artworks. The series will premiere sometime in 2024. No additional information on other staff or cast members has been announced. We will update you when those details are released.

Naoya Matsumoto launched his manga series Kaiju No. 8 in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website in July 2020. With its rising popularity, the first volume — first published in December 2020 — received two more prints due to high demand. The manga has compiled a total of eight physical volumes as of November 4th. Matsumoto’s manga achieved further success, with Kaiju No. 8 surpassing 4 million copies, for which it was recognized as the fastest-growing Shonen Jump+ manga ever to reach the milestone. It was nominated for the 14th Manga Taisho Awards in 2021, the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in February 2021, and the Eisner awards in May 2021. The manga took first place in the seventh “Next Manga Awards” in the web manga category in August 2021. Viz Media is publishing Kaiju No. 8 manga volumes in English, and digitally on Shueisha’s manga website MANGA Plus.
Vis Media describes the series as:
A man working a job far removed from his childhood dreams gets wrapped up in an unexpected situation…! Becoming a monster, he aims once again to fulfill his lifelong dream…!
