A shy girl meets a cool guy whose personality and hair color match a particular kind of soda. They start to hit it off after he helps her out. It’s a carbonated romance story for all. We’ll see what comes of it when the Honey Lemon Soda anime series premieres sometime in January 2025.
Mayu Murata released the original Honey Lemon Soda manga series on December 28th, 2015. Shueisha published 25 volumes in Ribon afterward.
The cute, shy girl and her new soda-themed friend are as follows:
- Uka Ishimori — Kana Ichinose (Suletta Mercury from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). A shy and quiet girl her classmates refer to as “Stone.”
- Kai Miura — Shogo Yano (Shingo Sawatari from Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V). A cool guy with unique yellow hair. He prefers a particular flavor of soda.
J.C.Staff has maintained a home page, a TikTok page, and a Twitter (X) page to promote Honey Lemon Soda. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals there. Uka and Kai seem to be getting closer.

Uka Ishimori is a quiet and shy girl. She freezes up in public settings. Her middle school classmates haven’t helped either. The nickname “Stone” stuck with her even into high school. Their bullying only brought Uka lower. Kai Miura reached out a hand just once, and he became a source of light in her world. Uka even followed him to his high school to possibly meet him again.
Uka’s status didn’t improve when she entered high school. She even apologized after Kai accidentally sprayed her with soda. He reached out to her again when they reunited. Kai instructed her to speak greetings and suggested she ask for help when facing bullies. Kai and his friends decided to step in and defend her, which began Uka’s journey to raise her voice and spirit.
