A cute live streamer works hard to make her social media dreams come true. Her struggles increase after her much more popular roommate is taken to the hospital. She takes a leap of faith and agrees to participate in a new VR game test. We’ll see how the game plays out when Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show premieres on July 1st, 2025.
Masato Matsune directed, and Makoto Uezu wrote this original Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show for Cygames.
The gamer, the assistant director, and a being of unfathomable horror and allure are as follows:

- Miko Kurono — Riho Sugiyama (Yoko Araki from Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture). A struggling live streamer who always tries her best.
- Kei Amakusa — Sayumi Watabe (Birmingham from Azur Lane). The assistant director of the amusement development department. She cares about the game participants.
- Cthulhu — Manaka Iwami (Acure from Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 3: Bonus Stage). The princess of evil. She greatly resembles Miko’s friend Mayu Mayusaka.
Studio Gokumi maintains a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show. You can find additional series information and the key visuals there.

Take A New Platform on Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show
Miko Kurono is a struggling live streamer. She has been streaming since graduating from middle school under the name Necronomico. Although she has a solid fan base, she’s nowhere near as popular as her roommate, Mayu Mayusaka. An unfortunate situation sends Mayu to the hospital, leaving Miko in a tight spot. She then agrees to test out a new virtual reality game for a massive corporation. Her “game test” quickly turns out to be anything but a standard testing session.

Miko enters a dangerous game with other people, where they confront monsters straight out of Lovecraftian nightmares. Danger lurks around every corner, whether they’re running through a school or being put on display for cosmic horrors. Cthulhu, the cosmic being that stands above all others, laughs at the human contestants. Miko demands to know why she looks and sounds like Mayu.
