The wildly popular Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series returns with the Hashira Training Arc. Tanjiro’s quest to save his sister Nezuko from a terrible demonic fate continues on May 15th. The wait may be long, but the Japanese and English trailers can tide us over until then.
Koyoharu Gotouge wrote and illustrated the original Demon Slayer manga series between February 15th, 2016, and May 18th, 2020. Shueisha published all 23 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump.
Some of our beloved demon slayers are as follows:
- Tanjiro Kamado — Natsuki Hanae (9S from NieR:Automata). Tanjiro became a Demon Slayer to save his sister and avenge his family’s death at the hands of Muzan Kibutsuji.
- Nezuko Kamado — Akari Kito (Seiun Sky from Uma Musume Pretty Derby). Tanjiro’s younger sister. She was turned into a demon when her family was slaughtered.
- Shinobu Kocho — Saori Hayami (Oyuki from Urusei Yatsura (2022)). The current Insect Hashira. Her family was killed by demons years ago, and she has sworn to protect others from suffering their fate.
- Mitsuri Kanroji — Kana Hanazawa (Ichika Nakano from The Quintessential Quintuplets). The current Love Hashira. She possessed great strength and abilities even at a young age. Eating too many sakura mochi changed her hair color.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Begins the Hashira Training Arc
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba begins with tragedy. Most of the Kamado family is slaughtered by demons led by Muzan Kibutsuji. Tanijro was lucky enough to miss the initial assault. But his younger sister Nezuko did not share in his fortunate timing. She survived, but only because Muzan turned her into a demon. With only a glimmer of hope in their hearts, Tanjiro trains to become a Demon Slayer to find a way to cure his sister and avenge their family.
After countless battles against the demons, the Demon Slayer Corps have found a small moment of peace. Nezuko has immunity to sunlight, a startling fact that has given the demons pause. The demon slayers have decided to use their absence to undergo extreme training to gain the strength to defeat Muzan and his most trusted lieutenants.
