A young noblewoman is born into a family famous for their supernatural abilities. So, it’s unfortunate that she wasn’t born with any abilities. Her family — led by her stepmother — treated her as a servant and derided her very existence. She found salvation when her father decided to marry her off. We’ll see how her married life continues when My Happy Marriage Season 2 premieres sometime in January 2025.
Akumi Agitogi and Tsukiho Tsukioka released the original My Happy Marriage light novel on January 15th, 2019. Fujimi Shobo has since published eight volumes in the Fujimi L Bunko imprint. Studio Kinema Citrus’s anime adaptation premiered on July 5th, 2023.
The happily married couple is as follows:
- Miyo Saimori — Reina Ueda (Sonia in Spy x Family). A noblewoman endured mistreatment from her family for failing to inherit their supernatural gift.
- Kiyoka Kudou — Kaito Ishikawa (Karaku from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). The head of the Kudou family has earned an infamous reputation for his ruthless nature.

A Cinderella Tale in My Happy Marriage
The Saimori clan is famous for its supernatural gifts. It values its gifts and reputation above all else. After it became apparent that the eldest daughter, Miyo, did not inherit these gifts, her clan treated her as a mere servant. Her family derided and abused her for years. They saw an opportunity to “make use” of her when the head of the Kudou family showed interest in marrying her. Kiyoka Kudou is notorious for being ruthless to his enemies and driving his brides-to-be away within three days.
The reality of the situation became apparent right away. Not only is Kiyoka a kind gentleman who finds mutual love with Miyo, but Miyo was born with a gift after all. The Emperor casts a venomous gaze on Kiyoka and orders the monstrous Grotesquerie to attack Kiyoka and his men. Though he survived, the attack rendered Kiyoka comatose. Miyo’s Dream-Sight gift awakens, allowing her to travel into Kiyoka’s dreams to wake him up.
