Yuru has spent his life hidden in a mountain village stuck in time. He dedicates his life to protecting his beloved twin sister, Asa. His sheltered life ends abruptly in a sea of violence. Through the violence and modern weaponry, he finds a strange woman over his sister’s body. The woman declares herself the real Asa and swears to avenge them by smiting the village. We’ll see how Yuru copes with his entire world becoming upended when Daemons of the Shadow Realm (Yomi no Tsugai) premieres on April 4th, 2026.

Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist) released the original Daemons of the Shadow Realm manga series on December 10th, 2021. Square Enix has since published eleven volumes in Monthly Shonen Gangan.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm Cast
The twins of destiny and a pair of godlike tsugai are as follows:
- Yuru — Kensho Ono (Giorno Giovanna from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure). Yuru is the destined twin of the night with the power of “seal.”
- Asa — Yume Miyamoto (Nika Nanaura from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). Asa is Yuru’s estranged twin of the day with the power of “break.”
- Sayuu-sama Left and Right — Takako Honda (Left Female) (Chitose Kizuki from My Hero Academia) and Rikiya Koyama (Right Male) (Dagruel from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime). Sayuu-sama is the twin guardian of Higashi Village and Yuru’s servants.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm Converge on the Fated Twins
Yuru and Asa are twins who were born at different times of the day. Asa was born as the sun rose, and Yuru was born while the moon still ruled the sky. Such a destined event shook the hidden village of Higashimura. Yuru and Asa separated, allowing Yuru to live free while Asa spent her life in a jail cell. Things carried on like this until helicopters and armed soldiers descended on the village and attacked the people with modern weapons and unseen monsters.
A mysterious woman leads the attack and attacks Asa in her cell. She claims to be the true Asa and greets Yuru as her elder brother. This Asa promises to protect Yuru and slay the villagers who cursed them to live such unfortunate lives. The traveling salesman Dera then rescues Yuru, guides him to forge a pact with the village god, and escapes to the lowlands. Yuru realizes just how far society has advanced, given his lack of knowledge about cars and cellphones. The twins will reunite and discover who their true enemies are.
