A rugged detective with his glory days behind him works hard just to barely pay his rent. He goes from catching vicious criminals to spying on cheating spouses. His dead-end life is upturned when a martial arts girl knocks on his door to ask for a job. We’ll see how his cases progress when Detectives These Days Are Crazy! (Mattaku Saikin no Tantei Tokitara) premieres sometime in July 2025.
Masakuni Igarashi released the original Detectives These Days Are Crazy! manga series on April 27th, 2016. ASCII Media Works has since published fifteen volumes in Dengeki Maoh.
The old-time detective and two associates are as follows:
- Keiichiro Nagumo — Junichi Suwabe (Ryomen Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen). A once-great detective who has fallen on tough times.
- Mashiro Nakanishi — Kana Hanazawa (Ichika Nakano from The Quintessential Quintuplets). A brash martial artist who wants to become a great detective.
- Azuha Hoshino — Fairouz Ai (Power from Chainsaw Man). An inventor who creates questionable and dangerous items.

His Assistant is Mad and Detectives These Days Are Crazy!
Keiichiro Nagumo was once a great detective. Girls and reporters flocked to him whenever he cracked a case that had baffled even the police. Sadly, those days are well behind him. His eyesight has faded, his hip acts up often and unexpectedly, and his detective’s senses have dulled. Nowadays, he’s lucky to get cheating spouse cases to help pay his rent.
Mashiro Nakanishi is a martial artist trained in Ryukyu Karate. She is incredibly strong, fast, and can hide all manner of weapons under her clothes. Mashiro approaches Keiichiro to become his assistant. She dreams of becoming a great detective like he used to be, and she believes she can learn everything from him. He’ll soon find out that he can learn as much from her.
