Sakuta has run into yet another cute cosplayer in dire need of help. The so-called “Miniskirt Santa” is suffering from Adolescence Syndrome while handing out special “gifts” to strangers. Sakuta will have his hands full with suffering girls and Santa’s gifts. We’ll see how he fares when Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus (Seishun Buta Yaro wa Santa Claus no Yume wo Minai) premieres on July 5th, 2025.
Hajime Kamoshida and Keji Mizoguchi released the original Rascal Does Not Dream light novel between April 10th, 2014, and October 10th, 2024. ASCII Media Works published all fifteen volumes in the Dengeki Bunko imprint.
The dreaming rascal, a cute Santa, and a cute former bunny girl are:
- Sakuta Azusagawa — Kaito Ishikawa (Karaku from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). A kind and honest boy whose life has become entangled with Adolescence Syndrome.
- Miniskirt Santa — Reina Ueda (Sonia from Spy x Family). A mysterious girl whom only Sakuta can see. She claims to be the online anonymous singer Touko Kirishima.
- Mai Sakurajima — Asami Seto (Frill Shiranui from Oshi no Ko). A popular actress who once suffered from Adolescence Syndrome. Sakuta was drawn to her bunny girl cosplay.

The Hero They Need, Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus
Sakuta Azusagawa has managed to cure the lovely Mai Sakurajima of her Adolescence Syndrome. The world around her can finally perceive her existence, and she has truly captured her stage. Mai has since become an actress and gained a following and fame. Sakuta continues at school while his new girlfriend lives out her dream.
Sakuta’s peaceful days at university are short-lived. He encounters a new, strangely-dressed girl whom no one else can see. This Santa girl introduces herself as Touko Kirishima, the famous online singer. Sakuta decides that he is going to find a way to help her as he had helped Mai before. Her case might be a bit more extreme, which is not helped when she tells him that she can “gift” people Adolescence Syndrome.
