At the time of this article being written, it’s a lazy weekday morning, so that makes it a perfect day to write about the new details that have been revealed for the anime adaptation of the isekai Cheat Pharmacist’s Slow Life: Let’s Build A Drugstore in Another World (Cheat Kusushi no Slow Life – Isekai ni Tsukuro Drugstore) which I’m just going to refer to as Cheat Pharmacist from here on.
First announced to exist a full year ago, the anime adaptation for Cheat Pharmacist opened its official website just a few days ago, and with it came a slew of new details including cast and crew members, the production studio, and a key visual (seen above) just for good measure to get us all excited for the series’ summer 2021 premiere.
Starting with the crew, studio EMT Squared will produce the animation with Masafumi Sato serving as director. The screenplay/series composition is being handled by Hiroko Kanesugi, while the anime character designs are being done by Etsuko Sumimoto. Tomoki Kikutani will compose the background music.
As for the voice cast, the characters will be played as follows (character names first):
Reiji Kirio: Jun Fukushima
Noela: Risae Matsuda
Mina: Akane Kumada
Elaine: Satsumi Matsuda
Annabelle: Mariko Higashiuchi
Egil: Fumiko Uchimura
Originally a light novel series written by Kennoji and illustrated by Matsuuni that was submitted to the website Shōsetsuka ni Narō, the series was eventually picked up and began being printed on Hifumi Shobō’s Brave Novel imprint starting in April 2018. Four volumes have been published thus far. In December 2018, a manga adaptation began running, which now has three collected volumes published.
Seven Seas announced the English license to both the light novel and manga series in August 2020. They have already revealed that they will release the first volume of the manga in March 2021, while they will release the first volume of the light novel in May 2021.
