There are plenty of anime out there that focus on adorable girls exploring the world of music or plucky young highschool-gals trying to break into the idol business. From K-ON to Love Live!, idolm@ster, and more, many of these series are actually anime adaptations of video games and smartphone apps. A new anime adaptation of a music-fueled mobile game titled I★CHU: Halfway Through The Idol is set to hit Japanese airwaves soon, but this one focuses on a massive cast of sharp-looking boys, instead.
I★CHU: Halfway Through The Idol is an anime version of the long-running I★CHU smartphone game from Liber Entertainment Inc., which has been available on iOS and Android since 2015. The game boasts a massive cast of 42 voice actors, each taking part in the main story of the “love rhythm adventure” as they perform songs, butt heads with each other, and interact with the player. Your role in the game is to play as a teacher and producer for these hunky musical talents, as you help them bolster their careers at the newly launched Etoile Vio School for budding idols.
