A seaside university accepts a new student from abroad. He’s excited to explore a new environment, but the naked men in the dive shop make him apprehensive. These wise guys offer him a place in their diving club, and his attractive cousins show him how beautiful the ocean can be. Iori continues his club and university activities after Grand Blue Season 2 premieres on July 8th, 2025.
Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka released the original Grand Blue manga series on April 7th, 2014. Kodansha has since published 24 volumes in Good! Afternoon. Zero-G’s anime adaptation premiered on July 14th, 2018.
The new diving club recruits and two seasoned divers are as follows:
- Iori Kitahara — Yuma Uchida (Megumi Fushiguro from Jujutsu Kaisen). A new student at Izu University. He’s in the mechanical engineering course.
- Chisa Kotegawa — Chika Anzai (Misaki Aoba from The Idolmaster Million Live!). Iori’s cousin and another Izu University student. She loves diving in the ocean.
- Azusa Hamaoka — Toa Yukinari (Kamaitachi from Yashahime). A senior from Oumi Women’s College and a dive club member. She’s not at all shy about sharing her intimate interests.

Dive In and Explore the Grand Blue
Iori Kitahara has recently moved to the coastal town of Izu to attend the local university. He’ll be living with his uncle Toshio Kotegawa, the owner of the Grand Blue diving shop. Iori’s expectations of a peaceful experience away from the city shattered after he stepped into his uncle’s shop. A bunch of rowdy, buff, naked guys greet him.
The buff guys offer him a place in their diving club. Iori resists initially, but his cute cousins share their interest in scuba diving. Chisa and Nanaka enjoy the sea and can’t wait to show Iori how great it can be. Alcohol and a lack of clothes may mar his college debut, but the cute girls still notice him.
