The darkened maidens of Ave Mujica are finally taking the stage! The new BanG Dream! anime brings the famous all-girl goth-loli band to anime. This series strikes a darker tone than the first title, It’s MyGO!!!!!. Misumi Uika and her friends wear their masks on stage and hide their inner turmoil to set their fans alight with their music. We’ll see how these girls deal with their pasts while forging a new future after Bang Dream! Ave Mujica premieres on January 2nd, 2025. Our fellow cultured otaku in Japan can see the premiere episode early on December 1st, 2024, at 109 Cinemas Premium Shinjuku in Tokyo and during Singapore’s Anime Festival Asia event.

BanG Dream! Ave Mujica Takes the Dark Stage
Sakiko Togawa founded Ave Mujica sometime after leaving her first band, CRYCHIC. She left CRYCHIC after her first performance. Sakiko departed after reading something disturbing on her phone. Whatever that message was, it completely changed her as a person. She was once a kind and outgoing person with a bright personality. Sakiko has since become a stoic person who blames herself for everything. However, she still carries on the dream of forming a successful band.
Sakiko isn’t the only cute goth girl with troubles she conceals behind a mask. It seems her fellow band members each carry a great emotional weight. Despite that, Uika, Mutsumi, Umiri, and Nyamu join her on stage to play music that brings smiles to everyone.
