A new original mecha anime is set to premiere soon. CygamesPictures is known for its cute girls and idol anime series, such as Princess Connect! Re:Dive, The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls U149, and CINDERELLA GIRLS 10th Anniversary Celebration Animation ETERNITY MEMORIES. Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Road to the Top belongs too. I know it’s not an “idol” anime, but those are cute horse girls who steal the spotlight. Bang Brave Bang Braven (Yuki Bakuhatsu Ban Bureiban) is quite the opposite of their usual idol anime work. We’ll see how different it is when the series premieres in January 2024. Until then, the trailer can give us a good idea.
A couple of pilots and a cute girl are as follows:
- Ao Isami — Ryota Suzuki (Third One for All in My Hero Academia). A member of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and a mecha pilot. Seems to be on good terms with Lewis.
- Lewis Smith — Yohei Azakami (Guel Jeturk in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). A United States Marine Corps member and fellow mecha pilot. He seems to be on good terms with Ao.
- Lulu — Saya Aizawa (Hiromi Seki in The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls Theater). A mysterious girl with light blue hair and red eyes. She’s mysterious because we have no information about her yet.
A home page and Twitter page have been set up to promote Bang Brave Bang Braven. Behind-the-scenes information and extras, such as the Key Visual, can be found there.
We Dig Giant Robots
Mecha anime has a long and storied history. Their impact on the industry is as massive as they are. Though the 1956 Tetsujin 28-go manga is the first in the mecha genre, the 1940 short manga Electric Octopus featured an octopus mech. Likewise, the 1943 manga The Science Warrior Appears in New York had a giant humanoid mecha. Not all anime mechs are the same. Some are larger than skyscrapers, as seen in The Big O. Others are just twice as tall as teenagers, like the techodes in Gad Guard. Not all mechs are cool and stylish, as seen with the rough-looking Shaft in Geneshaft.
More recent mecha anime have kept to what makes the genre so great. The space-faring warriors of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury and Alice Gear Aegis Expansion keep the light of humanity alive. Neon Genesis Evangelion continues to make us question what makes us human. Other anime, like Mecha-Ude, present these mechs as sentient, living beings and not just weapons to make warfare easier. There’s a mecha anime for everyone to enjoy.
The Battlefield of Hawaii
Most people think of tropical beaches and coconut-shaped drinks when they hear Hawaii. Well. Bang Brave Bang Braven took things in a new direction when they decided that various countries would use the island of Oahu, Hawaii, as a battlefield. Jets, tanks, and giant robots wage battle on what was once a nice place to live. These soldiers pilot large mobile armors known as Titatonostriders to fight and end one another.
Ao Isami of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and Lewis Smith of the United States Marine Corps come into conflict. But their battle is cut short by another attack. An unknown party attacks them, scattering their troops and leaving them scrambling to survive. These enemies must work together if they want any chance of saving their friends and themselves.

If you’re looking for a cute girl from a popular mecha anime, J-List has you covered. The Asuka Langley POP UP PARADE XL size Figure from Neon Genesis Evangelion is now available for pre-order. Don’t let the torn plugsuit fool you because she’s still quite dangerous.
