The crossover event of the century begins on June 6th. Baki Hanma VS Kengan Ashura brings two legendary martial arts groups to a single ring where only the strongest will walk away. Some of the best fighters from Baki the Grappler and Kengan Ashura will fight to determine the strongest. We’ll see who wins when the movie premieres on Netflix. The new trailer is available in both English and Japanese.
Keisuke Itagaki began writing and illustrating the original Baki the Grappler manga in 1991. Akita Shoten published 149 volumes in Weekly Shonen Champion. Yabako Sandrovich and Daromeon worked on the original Kengan Ashura manga from April 18th, 2012, to August 9th, 2018. Shogakukan published 27 volumes and one extra in the Ura Sunday Comics imprint.
The two lead fighters are as follows:
- Baki Hanma — Nobunaga Shimazaki (Mahito from Jujutsu Kaisen). Baki is the son of the mightiest warrior, Yujiro the Ogre. He trains to become even mightier than his father to avenge his mother.
- Ohma Tokita — Tatsuhisa Suzuki (Eve from NieR:Automata Ver1.1a). Ohma is recruited by a representative of the Nogi Group for the Kengan Association to fight for their organization. His combat skills during a fight in a dark alley were enough to impress them.

Baki Hanma VS Kengan Ashura Clash of the Titans
Ohma and Baki were both born to fight the strongest fighters. Baki Hanma is the son of the wealthy businesswoman Emi Akezawa and Yujiro Hanma. Yujiro earned the titles of “the strongest creature on Earth” and “the Ogre.” Baki encountered his father for a match and quickly became disillusioned by the monster he truthfully was. He suffered a brutal defeat, and his mother was killed when she tried to protect him. Baki was determined to improve himself and avenge his mother.
Ohma Tokita loves to fight more than anything. He has earned the nickname “The Asura” for this trait and his incredible strength. Ohma defeated someone in a darkened alley, earning him his opponent’s job. He became the Nogi Group’s fighting representative, which put him in the ring against dangerous opponents. Like Baki, his own “father” is a dangerous psychopath with delusions of godhood.
Baki and Ohma’s worlds will collide spectacularly. The circumstances are still hazy, but we know three battles will unfold in June.
- First match: Kaoru Hanayana (Baki the Grappler) VS Yoroizuka Saw Paing (Kengan Asura)
- Second match: Jack Hanma (Baki the Grappler) VS Kurea Raian (Kengan Asura)
- Third match: Baki Hanma (Baki the Grappler) VS Ohma Tokita (Kengan Asura)
