The second season of Azur Lane: Slow Ahead (Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin! Ni!!) is coming into port this July! The anime’s production team has released a new visual trailer and additional info ahead of its arrival. Yui Sakakibara will perform the show’s opening song, “Shaisuma!”
The anime’s first season aired from January 12, 2021, to March 30, 2021. Crunchyroll streams the anime.
Studio CANDY BOX, known for Blue Archive the Animation, will return for the second season. Shunji Maki will replace Masato Jinbo as the director. Yu Sato will reprise their role as scriptwriter. Additional production staff includes:

Azur Lane: Slow Ahead Details
A dude once looked at battleships and thought, “That would look so sexy as an anime girl.” That led the Chinese video game creators Shanghai Manjuu and Xiamen Yongshi to develop the side-scrolling shooter, anthropomorphic ship-girl game Azur Lane. The franchise has seen heavy success but has faced extensive criticism over its “gratuitous fan service,” to the point of being censored by women’s rights groups, Google, and the Chinese government.
The Azur Lane franchise now includes several anime, light novels, and manga. One of those manga, Hori’s Azur Lane: Bisoku Zenshin!, inspired the Azur Lane: Slow Start! anime. The 4-panel manga is published on the franchise’s official X feed and is serialized in Ichijinsha’s Comic Rex (formerly Manga 4-koma Palette). The series currently has five tankōbon volumes.
