If you’re a fan of the Attack on Titan anime series, the day you’ve been waiting for has finally arrived… a premiere date for the second part of the final season has finally been revealed! Not only that, but a brand new promotional video was attached, making this an extra special day.
So before we get into the real reason you’re here, let’s dive into that promotional video and check out what awaits us in the very near future.
That’s right sports fans, there’s not much longer to wait. As you saw at the end of that video, the new episode of the final season (episode 76) will hit Japanese airwaves on January 9th and the odds are almost rock solid that you’ll be able to watch it soon afterward on Funimation!
Not caught up on the series and don’t want to sit through 75 episodes between now and January? Japan has you covered yet again as the official website has also confirmed that six compilation specials will air starting on October 24th, which will cover the entire story leading up to this point. The series will feature a returning cast and crew, with no changes being made.
This is colossal news for the franchise (and we’re not talking about their world record either). With the manga series wrapping up in Japan over the summer and the series ending in English later this month, the final part of the final anime season couldn’t be arriving at a better time. While I’m not a fan of the series myself (I know, I’m a bad person), I understand this series has made a solid impact on the world. In fact, my favorite Attack on Titan story actually involves seeing someone wearing merch from the series while on my honeymoon in Guatemala.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been a solid decade of Attack on Titan and that an era will end soon. That’s ok though, I’m sure Japan has a totally wacky and zany isekai fantasy already waiting in the wings to take its place.
