The creator of the popular franchise Attack on Titan Hajime Isayama posted on his blog on Monday that he recently got married. He did not reveal the name of the lucky bride but he said that he wanted to “devote [himself] even more as a manga creator and as a person with [his] partner from now on.”
To those who are worried if this will be a sign of the manga artist will go on break, fear not. For Isayama said that he will still continue to make manga in 2019.
On the talk of Attack of Titan, Hajime Isayama said back in 2014 that he wanted to end the series in three more years. The Attack on Titan Editor Shintaro Kawakubo also made a similar statement in the same year that “The serialization is slated to end in three to four years.”
The manga was released in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2009 and compiled in 26 volumes so far in Japan. Its popularity expanded to a three-season anime series and two Japanese live-action films. An Attack on Titan Hollywood Film adaptation was confirmed with Andy Muschietti confirmed as director.
The franchise is a massive worldwide success with the manga volumes sold over 86 million copies in print. The second part of the third season of the Attack on Titan anime is slated to air in April 2019.
