A mage with enormous potential fails the final test to join the royal court. His luck — and money — seems to have finally run out. The mage’s only hope for gainful employment is to take on a potentially dangerous job: teach a noble’s daughter some magic. We’ll see how his lessons go when Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter (Kojo Denka no Kateikyoshi) premieres sometime in July 2025.
Riku Nanano and Cura released the original Private Tutor to the Duke’s Daughter light novel on December 20th, 2018. Fujimi Shobo has since published eighteen volumes in the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint.
The tutor, his pupil, and the cute knight are as follows:
- Allen — Yuto Uemura (Amajiki Tamaki from My Hero Academia). A talented mage whose only job lead was tutoring.
- Tina Howard — Hime Sawada (Cecilia from Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence). A young noblewoman who has difficulty using magic.
- Lydia Linster — Ikumi Hasegawa (Ciel from Tsukihime). A noblewoman Allen guided during their academy days.

Allen is a talented mage with great aspirations in the royal capital. His dreams seemed dashed when he failed the final exam to be a court mage. Even his professor was surprised by his failure. With no funds to return home, Allen asked for a job to save money. His professor gladly arranged for him to tutor the daughter of one of the four great houses of the kingdom.
Others consider Tina Howard a cursed child. Though she possesses academic prowess, she can’t control her magic and thus can’t cast a single spell. Her dreams of entering the royal academy seem far off until her father hires Allen as her home tutor. Tina had previously met Lydia and heard how he was able to help her use magic. She hopes he can do the same for her.
