Metabo Hagure released the original A Livid Lady’s Guide to Getting Even: How I Crushed My Homeland with My Mighty Grimoires novel on the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro on October 6th, 2020. Masami provided the art for the light novel adaptation, which debuted on May 19th, 2022. Hobby Japan has since published seven volumes in the HJ Novels imprint. Imo Ono provided the art for the manga adaptation, which debuted on May 19th, 2022. Hobby Japan has since published eight volumes in Comic Fire.

- Elizabeth Leiston — Saori Onishi (Yuki Sumi from Oshi no Ko). Elizabeth is the daughter of the Duke and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Haldoria. She vows revenge against those who used and betrayed her.
- Mireille Katarina. Mireille is Elizabeth’s loyal maid.
- Lucas Lebrick. Lucas is an ambassador from the Yutear Empire. He helps Elizabeth flee Haldoria in exchange for her knowledge and resources.

Elizabeth Leiston is the kind and wise daughter of a proud Duke and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Haldoria. Others have pushed her to live a life of noblesse oblige, to give everything for the sake of her people. Elizabeth manages everything from general paperwork to planning war campaigns. She keeps the kingdom’s most private secrets. They have only themselves to blame when they go along with Prince Friede’s and Sylvia Lockit’s scheme to frame her for terrible crimes.
Elizabeth was engaged to marry the prince for a time. However, the adopted daughter of a noble wormed her way into Elizabeth’s social circle and spread foul rumors about her. Sylvia claimed that Elizabeth repeatedly assaulted her and even tried to murder her. The foolish prince believed the accusations without demanding any proof and condemned Elizabeth to prison. The maid Mireille encouraged her to flee from the country that so easily cast her aside. Elizabeth approached Lucas Lebrick, an ambassador from the Yutear Empire. She would escape to the Empire and plot the downfall of her former kingdom. It would be easy with her keen mind and seven magic grimoires.
