An ancient dragon meets his end at the hands of the hero party he once called allies. Though they slay the dragon, his soul is reborn in a human vessel. It’s fortunate for his new family and friends that he retains all of his ancient draconic wisdom and magic. His small and humble village becomes a staging ground for supernatural issues. We’ll see how he handles things when Good Bye, Dragon Life (Sayonara Ryusei, Konnichiwa Jinsei) premieres on October 3rd, 2024.
Hiroaki Nagashima and Kisuke Ichimaru released the original Good Bye Dragon Life light novel on April 8th, 2015. AlphaPolis has published 24 volumes since then.
The dragon and two of his cute companions are as follows:
- Dolan — Shunsuke Takeuchi (Urogi from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). An almighty dragon whom even the gods feared reborn as a human.
- Celina — Hitomi Sekine (Mano Sakuragi from The iDOLM@STER Shiny Colors). A lamia girl who wants to find a romantic partner.
- Daidra — Mikoi Sasaki (Hitome from Plus-Sized Elf). A black rose fairy whose captivating appearance belies a merciful soul.

Good Bye Dragon Life and Hello Adventurer Life
The hero party felled a former ally, the ancient dragon whose power could challenge even the gods. The dragon lived for countless years and saw one era pass into the next. As such, he felt a sense of calm as he died under a full moon. Though he invited the spirits of death to bring him to the underworld, the dragon was reborn as a human. Now known as Dolan, he would live a humble life among friends and family in the countryside.
Dolan’s life wouldn’t remain peaceful and quiet. Reports of a nearby lamia came to him, so he volunteered to investigate. He retained his ancient wisdom and magic, which meant he could leave his body to ascend to Heaven and ask the goddess Myraal to speak on behalf of the lamia to see her spared. Celina would only be the first of many such extraordinary girls to cross his path. His human life is proving to be one of adventure and danger.
