Boys never reject beautiful and popular girls. It just doesn’t happen in anime. Too Many Losing Heroines! (Make Heroine ga Oosugiru!) shows us what to do when that does happen. A background character steps to the fore to help the heroines after their rejections. We’ll see how he does when this anime series premieres on July 14th, 2024. Takibi Amamori and Imigimuru released the original Too Many Losing Heroines! light novel on July 21st, 2021. Shogakukan has since published six volumes in the Gagaga Bunko imprint.
Three of the so-called “loser heroines” are as follows:
- Anna Yanami — Hikaru Tono (Rabi in Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro). A popular girl who was turned down by her childhood friend.
- Lemon Yakishio — Shion Wakayama (Henao Jazz from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). An athletic member of her school’s track team.
- Chika Komari — Momoka Terasawa (Yuzu Hanaoka from Blue Archive: Beautiful Day Dreamer). A cute girl who enjoys books and head pats.

We Have Too Many Losing Heroines!
Kazuhiko Nukumizu is just an ordinary guy, little more than a “background character” by his own standards. He happened to see something truly extraordinary: the beautiful and popular Anna Yanami was rejected by a guy she liked. Popular girls don’t typically get rejected, so he tried to comfort her. It turned out that Anna remembered a childhood promise to get married, and her childhood friend either forgot or didn’t feel the same way anymore. Either way, the heroine Anna was left brokenhearted.
Anna wasn’t the only cute heroine to feel the sting of rejection. The track and field star Lemon Yakishio and the literature club member Chika Komari have also lost in their pursuit of love. Kazuhiko felt sympathy for them, so he decided to help the girls find their proper happy endings.
