A forbidden romance in anime is always a nice one to see. Everyone has fun, whether it’s a hero and a villainess dating in Love After World Domination or an evil magical girl using the good magical girls as an outlet for S&M play in Gushing over Magical Girls. The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies (Katsute Maho Shojo to Aku wa Tekitai Shiteita) finds a pure-hearted magical girl and a villain falling in love. We’ll see where their relationship takes them when this anime series premieres sometime in July. Let’s enjoy the trailer until then.
Cocoa Fujiwara worked on her original Magical Girl and Evil Lieutenant manga from September 21st, 2013, to March 20th, 2015, ending when she tragically passed away. Square Enix published all three volumes in Monthly Gangan Joker.
Our magical girl and the mysterious, villainous executive are as follows:
- Byakuya Mimori / Glass Happiness — Mai Nakahara (Akagi from Azur Lane). An overly trusting magical girl who was duped into the job. She works incredibly hard doing several part-time jobs.
- Mira — Yuki Ono (Bazz-B from Bleach). A powerful and influential member of the Evil Organization. He fell in love with Glass Happiness at first sight.

Magical Girl and Evil Lieutenant Find Love from Across Enemy Lines
Evil lieutenants don’t typically fall in love with the magical girls they’re supposed to defeat, but here they are. Mira stands at the right hand of the Evil Lord. He’s poised to bring humanity to its knees. Indeed, he’s trained his whole life for this moment. However, he meets the magical girl who would stand against him: Glass Happiness.
Byakuya Mimori is an adorable and pure-hearted girl. So, it’s unfortunate that she’s way too trusting and has been tricked into this job and several others by the one who turned her into a magical girl. The good news is that Mira fell in love with her at first sight, and he’s clever enough to see what is happening in her life. This is a tale where the villain must save the magical girl from her own naivete.
