Yandere Dark Elf Makes Me Go Hmm.
The Japanese title of Yandere Dark Elf includes the phrase, “愛が重い (ai ga omoi),” which translates literally into “love is heavy.” The translators for the anime typically choose the looser English “she’s intense.” But a more visual interpretation pairs with the yandere feeling of the English title, “Her love is oppressive.” The anime always plays a fun game in choosing which scene Hinata will say those magic words about Mariabelle’s feelings for him.
Sometimes, it’s a throwaway line in the middle of a conversation. Other times, it’s a remark about Mariabelle’s jealous reactions. You never know when the “oppressive love” line will drop. In Yandere Dark Elf, episode 9, Hinata says it in the middle of public sex foreplay. Mariabelle will embrace all of Hinata’s kinky sides! He doesn’t have any, although it doesn’t matter to a Yandere Dark Elf’s “heavy love.”

The comic convention story arc continues with Sakura’s books selling briskly. They can’t keep up with the demand. Ooh! The high school kids have visitors: Cecil and Mei. Are they cosplaying? Can you call it that if they’re merely wearing their usual adventurer outfits from the parallel world of Yandere Dark Elf? Mei is live streaming, of course. Will Tres Magia show up here? Probably not. Disappointment abounds. But Cecil and Mei can help handle the customer line.
Mei’s popular channel can drum up sales because many of her subscribers overlap with the comic convention crowd. Sakura sold out! Successful day! Whoops. Mariabelle burst out of her blouse. When did she need a safety pin to keep her underboob from becoming plain boobs? I don’t remember that. Mei noticed how the characters in Sakura’s book look like Hinata, Mariabelle, and the author. But Hinata wears an otokonoko costume instead of his hero garb.

Neat! An editor from “Takeshobo” noticed Sakura’s books. That’s the publisher for Nakano Sora’s manga. I wonder if this happened to him at Comiket, and it’s how the Yandere Dark Elf hentai doujin turned into a serial manga adaptation. What a boost to Sakura’s confidence. Enough of that! Mei wants to cosplay outside! It’s picture time in the Big Sight plaza.
Uh oh. Mariabelle needs some private time with Hinata. Wall slams, dark magic, and the thrill of the public catching them doing naughty things! Hoho. Sakura went the extra mile in dressing Hinata as an otokonoko. She let him borrow her underwear! But his bulge is getting bigger! Did the Yandere Dark Elf awaken a crossdressing kink in Hinata? Nah. She’s as kinky as ever, though. And that sexy interlude ends with Cecil’s angry hand on Mariabelle’s shoulder.

Mei joins the other cosplayers on the plaza. I see no Tres Magia in sight. The girls’ outfits have drawn a crowd. Whoa. Hinata entered Hero Mode to stop an upskirt pervert from taking advantage of Mariabelle’s bare butt cheeks. Hah! The onlookers are more shocked that the cute mage cosplayer was a boy! Otokonoko! Weird. Sakura felt as if calling Hinata “her hero” was the same as confessing her crush on him. Ooh, drama. Hinata wears a concerned look on his face. That counts as a cliffhanger for this anime.
Yandere Dark Elf: She Chased Me All the Way From Another World! (Chotto dake Ai ga Omoi Dark Elf ga Isekai kara Oikakete Kita) streams on Hidive in the “least censored” web version, in Japanese audio and English subtitles. These reviews will rely on the uncensored AnimeFesta versions.
