The Paris Summer Olympics are upon us! We took a deeper look at some quality anime that would prepare us for a trip to Paris, and now we will look at the games. Summer games offer a chance to see cute and sexy girls playing in skimpy attire at the top of their fields. Anybody can enjoy the games. Let’s take a closer look at beach volleyball. Girls in bikinis bouncing around and hitting balls is a fun time for all.
1. Kozue Ayuhara (Attack No. 1)
Bloomers might not be too skimpy, but we’ll make an exception for Kozue. Attack No. 1 is a highly influential shojo series that set the stage for many popular series. Its influence reached far beyond Japan, even well after the series finished. Kozue moved from Tokyo to a rural area and pursued volleyball after recovering from an illness. Her skills earn her both admiration and jealousy from those around her. She eventually becomes the captain of her own team. Kozue would go on to compete at the national level, and I’m sure she would do well at the Summer Olympics.
Chikako Urano created the original Attack No. 1 from January 7th, 1968 to November 29th, 1970. Shueisha published all twelve volumes in Margaret. Tokyo Movie’s anime adaptation premiered on December 7th, 1969.
2. Claire Thomas (Harukana Receive)
This girl definitely deserves a gold medal for the Summer Olympics. Claire and her twin sister Emily are foreign exchange students at Urama High School. Their Team Éclair is among the top world-ranked junior beach volleyball teams. She and Haruka Ozora quickly become best friends and rivals after playing against each other. Claire flaunts her stellar figure during matches to help her win. The Summer Olympics would be so much more interesting if she competed.
Nyoijizai wrote and illustrated the original Harukana Receive manga. Houbunsha published ten volumes in Manga Time Kirara Forward from August 24th, 2015, to September 24th, 2020. Studio C2C’s anime adaptation premiered on July 6th, 2018.
3. Kiyoko Shimizu (Haikyu!!)
Kiyoko is a former track member, which affords her impressive speed, jumping, stamina, and fast reflexes. She primarily uses her skills and self-taught knowledge of volleyball as one of the managers for the Karasuno boy’s volleyball team. Sadly, we only see her play beach volleyball in official manga art. She would certainly fit in at the Summer Olympics.
Haruichi Furudate wrote and illustrated Haikyu!! from February 20th, 2012 to July 20th, 2020. Shueisha has released all 45 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump. Production I.G’s anime adaptation premiered on April 6th, 2014.
4. Rin Tohsaka and Rider (Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family)
This spinoff series is far happier than the prime timeline. Shirou spends his time cooking for his friends and family. During a certain episode, they all head to the beach and have some fun. Rin and Rider square off against Shirou and Saber during a game of beach volleyball. Shirou remains one lucky guy to play beach volleyball with three top-tier waifus in swimsuits. I think magical legendary heroic Servants would clean up at the Summer Olympics.
Type-Moon, led by Kinoko Nasu, released the first Fate/stay night as an adult visual novel on January 30th, 2004. Toned-down versions were released later, allowing it to reach general audiences. TAa released the original Today’s Menu for the Emiya Family manga spinoff on January 26th, 2016. Kadokawa Shoten has published nine volumes in Young Ace Up. Ufotable’s anime adaptation premiered on January 25th, 2018.
5. Misaki Ayuzawa (The Class President Is a Maid! / Kaicho wa Meido-sama!)
A maid is a maid, even at the beach. Satsuki’s younger sister Nagisa invites everyone to her beach house at the start of summer vacation. A few of them compete in a mixed doubles beach volleyball tournament where the winners are crowned the prince and princess of the beach. Misaki and Aoi win, but Misaki skips out to spend time with Usui. She might not be good enough to compete at the Summer Olympics, but she looks great wearing a maid apron over a swimsuit.
Hiro Fujiwara released the original The Class President Is a Maid! manga series between December 24th, 2005 and September 24th, 2013. Hakusensha published all eighteen volumes in LaLa. J.C.Staff’s anime adaptation premiered on April 1st, 2010.
