Regular customers know that J-List sells awesome Japanese calendars every year. This year we’ve got a great line-up of anime calendars as well as some very steamy and sexy JAV calendars. Read these two posts for my picks for the top calendars for your wall! But since we also carry amazing traditional art, photo and Japanese culture calendars, I wanted to make a post on the most popular items on the site!
All About J-List’s Japanese Culture Calendars
How are Japanese calendars printed? Japanese calendars are positively beautiful, printed on giant poster-sized sheets of paper that are brilliant and glossy. All are printed with environmentally friendly soy-based inks.
How are Anime Calendars shipped? They’re shipped safely in shipping tubes, unless the size won’t allow it, in which case we’d ship them using some other safe shipping method.
How many pages to the calendars have? Each product page will list the size and number of pages in the description, but the good news is that many of these photo and cultural calendars have 13 pages (a cover + 12 individual months), compared with anime calendars which usually have only 7 pages (a cover + one illustration for every two months). They are also very affordable.
These calendars feature internal pages on our website. While internal photos of anime and JAV calendars aren’t provided by the publishers, you can see the internal pages for these calendars by clicking through to our product pages.
The Top 12 Traditional Art, Photo and Cultural Japanese Calendars for 2020
What better way to enjoy Japan all year long than with the new “The Japan” calendar, which shows the country in all four seasons, from all corners of the country.
Another calendar we’ve enjoyed selling for 20+ years is the Japan Garden calendar, which picks the most famous nihon-tei gardens from around the country and shows you a new one each month, of course photographed in the month for that calendar month. It’s a great way to learn about the top gardens in Japan.
Experiencing Japan through its historical castles is also a joy, and this calendar shows all the best ones to you, with information on each one. Unlike all the other calendars we sell, this one is printed on film rather than paper, and looks gorgeous.
Do you like beautiful Japanese women wearing kimonos? We’ve got those available this year, and they are both lovely to see. There’s also a Kimono Stars in Gardens calendar if you’re really into Japanese gardens.
Sushi is always a welcome treat, and this calendar shows you nothing but the most beautiful arrangements of sushi by Japan’s top chefs. Imagine spending the year with awesome sushi! Actually our calendar buyer Mai was surprised to see this was a popular calendar, since (she said) sushi to her as a Japanese person is as ho-hum as a calendar about bread or mashed potatoes would be to Westerners.
We love Maru the cat, who has been a fixture of our calendar lineup for years. This is a desktop calendar, a great addition to your desk for 2020!
Or if you like Akita dogs, we have this cute one, featuring a dog whose name is also Maru, by coincidence.
This is another of my favorites, a fantastic calendar showing the best night scenes of japan, including Tokyo, which will host the Olympics next year. A great way to celebrate Japanese culture at night.
I love this one too, a calendar about classic Japanese cars of yesteryear.
A calendar about empty rooms? Well, Japanese rooms (washitsu) are pretty darned awesome things to look at. This is an awesome Japanese culture calendar featuring pictures of beautiful Japanese tatami rooms.
Another popular calendar is the Lucky Cat calendar by artist Hakone Okamoto. Looking at this amazing art is always a fun way to spend a year. Order yours now!
Finally there’s Michi, a calendar for those interested in kanji and Japanese proverbs, which is great for anyone studying Japanese or who just likes kanji. The kanji characters have hiragana printed beside them, so they’re easier to read. A great way to experience Japanese culture, and you get space to write information on too!
Well that’s our list of the best art, photo and Japanese culture calendars for your wall in 2020. Order yours soon!
