The internet erupted in interest when Stellar Blade’s Eve appeared. It was clear as a bright day that she had quite the backstory that gamers could explore at length. Quinton explored Eve’s backstory a fair bit in his review. Eve reminded us of the importance of a video game character’s well-rounded backstory. Let’s check out a few stellar examples.
1. Quiet (Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain)
Quiet is a ruthless and efficient sniper who once worked for the Soviets. She was defeated in battle against Venom Snake and later joined his Diamond Dogs. Her masterful backstory — and the reason for her revealing backside — comes from the damages she sustained while trying to kill Big Boss. Her injuries required special treatment that necessitated the use of revealing outfits.
Hideo Kojima created the Metal Gear Solid series. The first entry in the series was published on July 13th, 1987.
2. Harley Quinn (Batman: Arkham)
Harley Quinn has quite a tempting backstory. She was once an esteemed psychologist, but her attempts to treat the Joker resulted in twisting her to fit his image. Dr. Harleen Quinzel became the Clown Princess of Crime with an incredible backside. She is most likely responsible for many cultured fans becoming interested in clowns. Harley will take her clown-themed fun with her in Suicide Squad ISEKAI.
Paul Dini and Bruce Timm created Harley Quinn for Batman: The Animated Series on September 11th, 1992.
3. Cammy (Street Fighter)
Cammy is one of the legendary waifus who proudly displays her backstory. She was once an empty Doll whose sole purpose was to serve M. Bison and Shadaloo. Cammy broke free of her bonds and joined Chun Li to fight the forces of evil. She has plenty of military training, which is reflected in her choice of attire.
Chun Li has plenty of backstory for fans to enjoy as well. The Chun Li 1/6 Figure from Street Fighter is available now for pre-order.
Takashi Nishiyama and Hiroshi Matsumoto created the first Street Fighter game, which Capcom released on August 30th, 1987.
4. YoRHa No.2 Type B / 2B (Nier:Automata)
2B reveals more of her explosive backside on command. She is a powerful video game waifu who can wear whatever she wishes because no one can tell her otherwise. Her glorious backside took the internet by storm years ago, and we still haven’t gotten over it yet. 2B fights against horrific nightmares on behalf of humanity. Her courage — and her attire — has earned her humanity’s gratitude.
Cultured fans can get a better look at her backstory. The 2B (YoRHa No.2 Type B) Figure Regular Edition from NieR: Automata is available for purchase right now.
2B first set the internet alight in the award-winning video game NieR:Automata. PlatinumGames, with Yoko Taro at its head, developed the game and released it on February 23rd, 2017. It is a sequel to Nier, a spin-off of the Drakengard series.
5. Mai Shiranui (The King of Fighters)
Mai’s backstory is on prominent display. She’s a Shiranui ninja girl who dresses in a way that allows ease of movement. Though she is a regular member of the Women’s Team, she relentlessly pursues Andy Bogard to become his wife. That Andy refuses makes him a complete fool.
Mai isn’t the only King of Fighters girl with a perfect backside. The ANGEL1/7 SNK BISHOUJO Figure from THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2001 is available now for pre-order.
Masanori Kuwasashi directed the original The King of Fighters for SNK. The first entry in the series was released on October 1st, 1994, for the Neo Geo.
