The Latest Trending Anime at Anime Expo 2025
Cosplay uniquely represents a finger on the cultural pulse for what’s popular and what’s becoming niche. Where once series like My Hero Academia and Attack on Titan dominated the halls, they’ve given way to the new fandoms for The Apothecary Diaries, Chainsaw Man, and Arcane.
Check out these trending anime cosplays from Anime Expo 2025! And if you’re in the mood for something naughtier, check out the J-List store’s range of Cosplay JAV, featuring your favorite JAV actresses getting dirty in costume!

The Juggernaut of Gacha Games at Anime Expo 2025
Love them or hate them, gacha games have become entrenched in not only the video game space but also anime culture in general. The heavily anime-inspired designs for games like Zenless Zone Zero, Honkai: Star Rail, and Wuthering Waves appeal to anime and JRPG fans alike. Many of those titles even produce animated trailers for new characters, and let’s not forget Genshin Impact’s long-awaited anime series by Ufotable.

The Evergreen Cosplays of Anime Expo 2025
Some franchises never truly die. Instead, they become part of the anime zeitgeist and occupy a cultural space in our collective consciousness. Just like how even your grandparents can probably recognize Pikachu, there are plenty of anime that everyone is familiar with, even if you’ve never watched them before.
Cosplay-heavy conventions, such as Anime Expo, are perfect examples of this cultural phenomenon, with evergreen franchises like One Piece and Death Note consistently drawing a large cosplay presence. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners seems to have snuck into that category with its heartwrenching storyline and endearing characters, and with news of a sequel on the way, we expect to see more Cyberpunk cosplays soon!

Miku, Miku, You Can Call Me Miku
Speaking of cultural phenomena, has there ever been a character more pervasive than Hatsune Miku? The blue-haired Vocaloid is ubiquitous at anime and otaku conventions, popular with the Vocaloid-obsessed and the casual listener alike. While Anime Expo 2025 didn’t bring too much variety in the different types of Miku cosplays, there were enough on display to warrant their own category in this list!
J-List stocks plenty of Hatsune Miku figures and merchandise, including one of the best entries in Miku’s music, Hatsune Miku Project DIVA MEGA 39’s for Nintendo Switch!
